I've got items in the store now, am getting lookers but still waiting for that first sale. Today I start promoting the store. Before doing this I want to make sure everything else is in place and what it should be. I've kept product descriptions brief and to the point. I don't think people read half of what they see. I've developed a system for S&H that I can live with. Some customers will pay more others will pay less. The only concern I have is how to handle returns/refunds. I would like to hear from some of the other store owners on how you handle it. Also, any suggestions on how to improve my store would be greatly appreciated. God Bless. T

Every seller is different. Heck, every one of my stores is different.
Example - in my formal dress store I will accept returns ONLY if I am notified within 3 days and that it is returned with all tags attached to me post marked within in 5 days of receiving it. I do not refund shipping either direction.
Many people like to buy formals, wear them and return them!
My mens store is more on a case by case decision.
Of course if I totally screw up - wrong description with pic or wrong item sent - those are returnable with postage paid both ways. |

I actually don't have a stated return policy because I like to approach it on a case-by-case basis. I do, however, try to express that if the buyer has problems of any sort to contact me and we'll work it out. |

I offer exchanges or merchandise credits only and the item must be postmarked within 3 business days of having received it. I used to offer refunds but then a few people wore my costumes and returned them for money back. |
