So I think I made my first sale but not exactly sure. I got an email notification today of a purchase from Google Checkout. I assumed it's from eCrater as it's the only place I have Google Checkout as a payment option but when I go to the order section in eCrater, it shows there are no orders. I looked all over Google Checkout to see where the sale came from but couldn't find anything. I'm new to eCrater and Google Checkout, am I missing something?

Thanks!

Log in to your Google Checkout account and check this order.

Has the customers credit card been charged or is your account set up to do it manually?

If you did not set the Callback setting for eCrater in your Google account, you would not see the order in the Orders section of your store.

Hope this helps.

You can also click on a link in the email Google sent you that will take you to a sign in page and then the order page so you know who you sold to and what. Be sure they took their fee out otherwise it hasn't been completely processed yet.

Thank you for all your replies!

The credit card has been charged and Google has taken their fees. I can see the person who ordered it but I can't tell where they ordered it from (ie eCrater, etc). If it was from eCrater, shouldn't the item be gone from my product list or do I have to manually remove when I am out of stock?

AmericanEdge - Is the Callback setting you mentioned the API callback URL? Do I put my shop url there?

epponie,

Step by Step Guide to set up / intergrate Google Checkout with your store.

First, sign in to your Google Checkout account

Once signed in, Click My Sales at the top right of the screen
Click the Setting tab at the upper left half of the screen

At this page note the Merchant Status. Has it been Approved yet?
You should have received an email from Google requesting that you verify the amount of the deposit
Also,on this page, fill in the different info that pertains to your store; email, web address, ect.
You don't need to fill it all in but should fill in the contact info.

Next, Select Integration from the left menu

API callback URL: In this box enter https://www.ecrater.com/google/response-handler.php
Callback method: Check XML

To the right of this screen you will find:
Google merchant ID: YOUR NUMBER HERE
Google merchant key: YOUR NUMBER HERE
Copy and Paste these into notepad for future use.

NOW, go to ecrater.com and log in to your store.
click on Payment Options on the left menu
Check Secure Checkout through Google Checkout

Copy and Paste the following from your notepad.
enter Merchant ID:
enter Merchant Key:

Once you do this, everything should be set up to communicate and receive orders at eCrater.

It is my understanding that if everthing is set up this way you will:
1. Receive email notification from Goggle about each purchase.
2. You will not receive email from eCrater about a Google purchase from you store.
3. You will be notified of completed Google checkout purchases, in the Orders section of Admin in your eCrater store.

Google offers many services that can be confusing. DO NOT sign up with a GOOGLE MERCHANT account. This is something entirely different and can cause problems down the road.

Hope this helps.
