I don't see any way to do this, but I will ask anyway. I want to list a couple of wristwatches and I have very detailed, hi-res photos of the watch. Is it possible to have a link (URL), in the description, to show these photos I am hosting on my website? |

I'm pretty sure there is a way to. If you aren't into html, and css, then here is a simple way too.
Go to the picture on your site, and copy the url at the top, then post it in the description of the product your selling, and it should work that way.
Or actually, I don't know if the site uses html, or css. But if the site uses html, then copy the url, from your site, and then in the description put
<a href="url">Link text</a>
Hope I helped...in some way. o.o |

HTML coding is not allowed so you can't do it
You can upload your images
You can also put the URL in the description but it will not be clickable |

Quote: | A vintage Indian - Native American watch. The little hatchet is animated, strikes back and forth. This watch was probably manufactured in the 1950's or 1960's, it is similar to others of the Eisenhower "Davy-Crockett" era.
Check out the animation:

CLICK ME .. will not work! It's not a clickable link.
Don't know what an avi file is but I can't open it.

Problem... it's not a case of everybody be able to read it, like with JPG or GIF.
I don't want to post a URL if it's just gonna frustrate potential buyers...
Maybe I can post it as a Flash file. 95-98% of users have Flash enabled browsers...
Will have to find some conversion program, or figure out how to use the Flash Builder.
Thanks for the information about the AVI. |

About COD...I used the USPS COD back in the 1990's when we were selling Audio Gallery Foreign Language software (fairbrothers.com). We were selling mostly bulk to distributors, or singly, with mailed-in checks, or over the phone, with a Credit Card, with an occasional COD. Then we got burned on a COD to the Bronx, and a few weeks later on one to Brooklyn. I don't remember what exactly happened, rubber checks I think, but we never received good payment. At first I just made it a rule not to send COD to NYC, but then we stopped it altogether after the next one turned out to be "no one at that address." |

Now I remember the problems with COD - 1) rubber checks (you get the check a week or so after delivery). 2) no one at the address so we had to pay return postage (and COD postage was high to start with). The return would take a few months, not a few days. 3) the buyer changed their mind and refused delivery.
The COD scammers of the 90's have evolved into todays "I never received the package, you can't prove it, I'm reversing the charges" scammers of today. (if you don't use a delivery confirmation). |
