I was looking at some items on Google Products and saw some eCRATER sellers with little blue shopping cart icons appear right next to their eCRATER store IDs. If you hover the mouse pointer over the icon, it'll say "accepts Google Checkout".

I've spent some time reading but can't figure how those sellers did it. Does anyone here know how?

Thank you in advance.

First you have to accept GCO to get the little blue cart! Laughing
My cart wasn't showing and so I sent an email to GCO and asked that they add the cart to my items. Believe it or not, they replied quickly and said it would be taken care of.

There may be another way to go about this by contacting Admin. Confused

Sellers don't do it. I'm not sure if they come from Google or ecrater admin. I had one on my first store but had to ask Google for the other 4. They did come from Google.

Those blue shopping cart things at Google Product Search are called Google Checkout Badge. To be able to qualify for a badge:

1. You need to have a Google Checkout account.
2. In the Settings page you need to have your eCrater store homepage entered as your Public Business url (make sure you typed the url correctly without any www in it)
3. You need to have completed at least 1 successful sale (that means getting paid having the customers credit card charged and you shipped the item and marked it shipped) through the website you have in the Public Business url using Google Checkout

If you have all those then you wait 48 hours. If the badge has not appeared at the end of that time you contact Google Checkout to get your badge status changed to "active".

I had the Google Checkout badge showing on my listings in Google Product search results. Now or lately, it's gone.

I meet all the eligibility requirements above. The reason might be that I do not use the Google Checkout shipping confirmation emails / tracking. I send out my own shipping confirmation emails.

I've contacted Google Help today about the badge, but there was no place to write in any information or communicate.

Anyone else have this problem of a missing a Google Checkout badge and wondering why?

Thank you for the help everyone.

Some but not all of my items are showing up now. Unlike before when none were showing up. Particularly shown are the ones with the uncommon search terms, ie Glowacki.

I would have contacted Google, since I had long ago completed steps 1,2,&3 as listed above, and I had a 'badge' previously in the shopping list, but there was no easily found way to contact them.

I don't think not using the GC shipping confirmation emails causes the badge to drop. I used not to confirm shipments in GC either until recently and my badge still has been there after I contacted GC the first time to get it to show up.

I am not sure which help page you used but the link below is what I used to contact Google Checkout a year ago.

http://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/request.py?contact_type=marketing

Enter your name, email address, check "Badges" (under "Tell us which topic you need assistance with"), then check "Why aren't badges displayed with my Product Search listings?" (under "Tell us what you'd like help with"). Enter your Google Checkout Merchant ID (15-digit number in your GC account). Enter Google Merchant Center Acccount ID - it should be the 7-digit number in the upper corner next to your store's name (sign in your dashboard at https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?hl=en&nui=1&service=merchants&continue=http://www.google.com/merchants/default&followup=http://www.google.com/merchants/default&passive=true ). Click "Submit". A GC customer service rep should contact you via email. From this point on, you should be able to email him/her back and forth to get the problem fixed without having to use the GC contact form again.

Hope it helps!

Thank you, and, yes, that is what I sent in. Will post back what I learn, and hope not to have to make a choice between the having the GC badge display and sending my own shipping confirmations.

I guessed that sending out my own shipping confirmations might be the reason because when you look at my sales history in Google Checkout, you might conclude that I have never shipped out an order ever! As soon as I ship, I archive those orders, and don't use the post-sale Google Checkout confirmations and email system. I track my shipping details and such myself.

Will be interesting to see what's up, as I can't see anything else that might be missing on the list of Google Checkout badge requirements:

I have been having trouble getting the Checkout badge to show under Google shopping searches. Some items are now showing, others are not.

For instance, I just searched "celluloid santa" and the item was there, but there was no Google Checkout blue shopping cart icon. I have been taking Google Checkout for over a year.

I just emailed Google. I am waiting for their reply now.

I followed your link and discovered that I do not have a Google Merchant Center Account ID. I only have my Merchant ID #. How do I set up a Google Merchant Center Account ID so I can have the badge displayed? Thanks for your help!

You should NOT set up a Google Merchant Center Account for your ecrater store becuase ecrater.com does the store feed and if you enter your store URL in that set up then your google shopping feed will not work.

If you only want to have a Merchant Center ID# in order to contact GC by following the link in my previous post (I don't know of a better link to contact them regarding GC badges), you will need to sign up for a Google Merchant Center (formerly known as Google Base) Account.

Go to: http://base.google.com , sign in using your Google Checkout username and password. Select the country you're from (i.e. United States), submit. Check the box agreeing to Google's Terms of Service then follow the rest of their on-screen setup including your store's name & contact info - ignore store's URL. After that it should take you to your own Google Merchant Center dashboard. Your account ID should be located in the parentheses right next to your store's name on the upper top left corner.

Very importantly, as bigtallmensclothing mentioned:
Quote:

Please do NOT mess with the dashboard including the products, data feeds and what not in there since all this stuff has already been taken care of by eCrater. So just ignore it.

Hope this helps!

In my Google Checkout Account > Settings > Merchant Center, there is an "Existing Link" with a Merchant Center Account ID in light gray. I used that ID to fill in that blank the help form. Been two days, and no reply.

Thanks homeandbody and BT. Found the number and submitted my request for a badge to show up. Guess I just have to keep checking to see when Google takes care of it.
