After receiving numerous requests from many sellers about it I finally added the "max qty" feature. When you add/edit item please specify there the qty of the item that you have. The buyer will not be able to order qty bigger than what specified in that cell.
If you leave the cell empty no restrictions on the qty will be applied. |

Ah, I thought that's what it was for.
Since I use dropshipment, I don't like to advertise more than 1 or 2 of a size or color at a time. (Smoker; don't want to subject customers to my habit b/c smoke smell gets into everything, no matter how well packaged.) So this feature will be a big help to me.
Namaste,

any idea if it's just a limit on the max qty that person can order, or if it's an inventory field (will reduce count available as they sell) ? |

Is there a glitch with quantity? I had several sold (1 quantity) items that didn't remove from my store, I had to delete them. Are they always visible and just unavailable or are they supposed to come off the page when there is nothing left? |

The Max Quantity field isn't actually an inventory feature. All it does is prevent someone from ordering more of an item than you have on hand. For instance if you have three of a certain widget and that's what you put in that field, then a customer can order up to three but no more. If two customers both ordered three each at roughly the same time then you'd have to work something out with one of them.
The real benefit of this feature is for store with items that customers are likely to order more than one of.
I can't remember what I've actually heard but I'm sure inventory capabilities are coming at some point.. |

Thanks for the explanation. So if I have "1" and someone buys "1", then the next person can or cannot purchase? |

The next person CAN buy one!
It only will stop a buyer from buying more then you have at one time.
AFTER you sell that 1 - you need to go in and HIDE or DELETE the item to prevent it from being sold again. |

Not that I'm being ungrateful, but by hiding or deleting the product once I'm out (which is after one sale), the buyer can't go back and look at the item. |

For this reason, that's why I suggest you upload a SOLD image and not hide or delete until about 2 weeks after mailing. |

Instead of a "max" quantity why not make it an actual quantity? That way we wouldn't have to keep going back to end the item once sold. I know many people don't have more than 1 of each item. I personally don't have multiples of ANY items. |
