I thought there was a way to mark items as "sold", but I can't find it?
Thought I saw something in one of these threads about it, but can't find it?
Help? |

Okay, I edited the pics and put "SOLD" across 'em.
Think that'll work? |

Congrats! Hope you have many more! I find it easier to just hide the item that sold rather than mess around with a picture. Just my 2 cents.

IN MY OPINION, and you'll find this posted here a zillion times.
HIDING before the buyer receives it is just wrong, lol. Like I said that's my opinion. Why? Because if I buy something when I get it I like to pull it up and compare what I got to the picture and the description. If you hide it - it's gone from the viewing of the buyer.
Now, if you mistakenly send the wrong item and the buyer thinks to themselves this isn't what I ordered - they have no way to go see.
A sold image for up to 2 weeks seems to work out just fine.

Thanks Christine!
Yep, I know what you're saying, and I was going to do that, but...
I'd like to leave it available until I know the customer has her order, so if there's any question about it the ad's still there.
I guess I'm just weird...
...or just hung around that other place too long
Here's wishing us all LOTS O' GREEN!!! |

LOL, BTM, looks like we cross-posted... Thanks for putting your 2 cents in!
I'll have to check out those "sold" logos.
Thanks bunches! |

So when you post the sold picture do you still keep the picture of the item in the ad for the customer to compare their shipment to? I understand what you are saying but if an incident does happen I can easily unhide the item so they can review it. Just seems to me like more work. |

Those logos are great! They'll sure simplify things, too
Thanks again! |

Christine, I think if you just add the "sold" logo as another image, then make it the default, it'll work great. That way the other pics will still be there. |

I think it would work well too as long as you keep a photo of the item in the ad. Knowing my luck though, someone would still go ahead and still purchase the item....lol |

LOLOL!!! Yep, it could happen.
I think, though, if they see that "SOLD" first thing, it won't be too likely.
Would really rather risk that than have the customer come back to check it out and nothing's there... could cause a problem. |

If hidden --- the ad can not be seen at all.
When I ADD a SOLD image I never remove anything. Just add the SOLD IMAGE and make that the default image |

That's what I did, after I grabbed some of those "sold" images. Then went and put the original pics back in.
Adding the "sold" is quick and easy, and it's plenty bold enough that I don't think anyone would try to buy. If they can't figure out what the "sold" means, I don't think they can figure out how to find the other pics...
Of course, there's always the chance, but it's highly unlikely. |
