I have never used the Global Editor. I want to change ALL my prices by a %. So for example, I wanted to raise my prices 10%, I would choose "+" and then what do I put in the next box? 10%? .1?
I don't want to do this by trial and error and mess my whole store up and then maybe not be able to get it back to where it was before I started. I searched the boards and was unable to find instructions how to use this thing. |

I always the smallest category to make sure it does what I think it should
Im thinking if you put + and .10 you will end up adding ten cents to each price |

To raise a price by 10% on a calculator you would enter the price + the percent sign, but if you are doing the math manually you would multiply the price by 1.10. For example, if your price is $10.00 then 10% would be $1.00 ($10.00 x .10). $10.00 + $1.00 = $11.00 or the new price. If you use the formular $10.00 x 1.10 you'll get the same answer of $11.00.
To use the global editor, select the category you want increased, action will be "set price", operator will be * (multiply) and the user value will be 1.10 and this will add 10% to the price of every item in that category.
To add 5% your user value would be 1.05.
To add 25% your user value would be 1.25. |

Ah...OK. So if I want to reduce my prices 10% I would multiply by 0.90 |
