Dear All - I've just registered and have not yet put together my store. A friend uses ecrater and recommended the site over ebay. I've been using ebay for years and recently it's been a big hassle. Have you all done well with sales on ecrater? Any advice to offer before I take the plunge? Thanks!! Carole |

Welcome to Ecrater! I recently joined and have sold over $100 of stuff within a few days, no advertising, and it is just AMAZING!!!!! My advice is to add all of your FAQ, Contact info, etc. to make it look professional. You could try having a promotion like free shipping or something to start off, it may or may not attract some people. |

You get what you put into it as far as promoting.
Think of it like this.
You just rented space at the strip mall. You are between the dry cleaners and the Starbucks. Great location! You'll get some foot traffic of browsers (that's what ecrater.com will bring you) BUT you need to advertise and let buyers know that you are even in the strip mall. The landlord isn't doing your advertising for you.

Welcome to eCrater and glad you're here.
I agree with those above me - set your store up and provide as much information as possible on how you conduct business and 'treat' your orders, customers, returns, etc.
There are many ways to draw traffic 'here'. I am pleased with my sales here and am hoping for many more (for all)!!

What BigTall said. It's like having your own website except that the set-up is a whole lot less work. The work, though, comes in promoting the store. |

Hi,
I just signed up as well. I am so excited by this site and community. Classy, well done and surely ecrater will be a huge success!
I sell on ebay, but it isn't what is once was. I have true antiques, collectable records, vintage clothing and more to sell and ebay's problems ..well. Not the venue.
As I said: very impressive. Seems like an A-1 group of sellers as well
Much luck to all!
Jane
