|
|
Hi..
Can someone please advise.
I went to 'purchase' something from myself to make sure the check out and paypal options were working. It got right to the paypal part BUT it didn't add any postage costs on at all..!
It shown that postage costs were 0.00 and of course with me living in the UK and selling internationally of course I would be in a real mess if all my sales went through with free postage LOL
I used the shipping matrix method to figure out my postage prices as it seemed the easiest option for me. I simply checked with our UK Royal Mail the weights for shipping to the US and placed my own postal values in the matrix boxes.
The postage costs show up on my listings BUT NOT on the paypal checkout.
Any help, advice or ideas please?
I will check back tomorrow to see if anyone has suggestions as its 2.45am here in the UK and I have matchsticks propping my eyes open now! LOL
Thanks in advance. |

The shipping works when ordering with a US address..You were probably entering your UK address when ordering, causing the shipping not to be added. However, when checking out with a USA address it adds $6 shipping. |

IF you are using FIXED RATE --- it wont' work with international.
As stated if you click on the ? when creating the listing
Quote: | When adding items with flat rate, specify set dollar amounts for shipping. Flat rate can used only for US-Mainland, Canada, Alaska & Hawaii. |

Hi BTMC I'm using the Matrix style for the postal prices. I've figured out what I'd done now and put that right.
However.. I've came across another problem that I need a little help with.
I've managed to get the postage sorted so if your buying from the US the postage is in dollars and if your buying from the UK its in Sterling Pounds BUT the item price stays in the same value as the $ if buying from the UK
For example someone in the UK orders something for say $7.00 and the postage is lets say $5.00 at the checkout a UK customer gets this
Item 7.00
Postage 2.00
Total 9.00
So the postage is changed into UK pounds but the item remains the same value as the US Dollars
Any ideas anyone how I can fix this so the price of the item is adjusted into the appropriate UK price at checkout?
Thanks in advance |

US$ is all eCrater does. So the price entered into the listing is what shows up in checkout.
I've never heard of the dollar amounts converting. Can someone explain that? |

Anyone else with any suggestions?
Hmmm... how can I sell internationally... (I mean to my own country LOL - The UK) If it only allows me to have my items priced as $ ...????
The postage costs get converted from $ to at the checkout yet the item stays in dollars...
Looks like a 5 item to a UK customer costs 10 because at checkout it doesn't state its $
Is there some way at checkout the item price can be changed into pounds? |

The terms of ecrater.com state all prices must be in US Dollars. |

aha... ok
so I can still sell to people in the UK..? They'd just have to pay in US dollars?
Hmmm now I am confused LOL.. how would they do that?
If that was the case.. would I be best leaving the shipping charges for UK sellers in US dollars too? Otherwise at the checkout they get the item price in dollars and the shipping in UK British pounds.
Confused yet? lol.. I know I am |

I'm really confused by this. Do you mean in the eCrater checkout? Before it goes to PayPal? |

no one cares what they pay you in --- could be cups of tea --- just the pricing shown must be in US $

I would think so - that way they can just convert the whole total and not a piece of it then have to add another piece and get the wrong total because they can't add. |

Thanks Big T your great
When I said

Yes I meant before you pay.. in the ecrater checkout the items in $ yet the postage goes to (because I set the UK postage to in matrix)
no one cares what they pay you in --- could be cups of tea --- just the pricing shown must be in US $
How does this work though? If your in the UK when you visit paypal and it gives you the amount in $ us british people will have in our paypal / bank accounts, does paypal convert the amount for them when they pay?
I'll remove the shipping costs for UK buyers in matrix because I agree like you said, for a UK buyer it gets a little confusing at the checkout.
Big T you really are very helpful to me and a lot of other people here.
THANK YOU |

This I have no clue of -- I am in the US. All I can do is tell you to test it out and see --- just stop short of paying it so you dont' get hit with PayPal fees.

I do know a couple of larger people yes.. what sizes do you start at and go up to?
I'll pass the details on..
I was wondering too.. is there a place we can put special offers up? Like anyone who orders from me gets a free bag of sweeties LOL
I've seen a few people post offers, just wondered if there was a designated place to put them, and if not if there could be |
