Well, I got to messing around and managed to delete all the books I had listed, except for two...

I take it we shouldn't screw around with the initial Categories we set up, because if you delete them then they also delete all the products you have listed up to that point, as well?

It would have been nice if the manual would have mentioned that...

LoL, well those categories.

First name a new one, or set up how you think.
THEN go to the listing and find the category and change it there.
Once the old one is empty then you can delete it. (not the root though)

I almost did the same thing, I first had it setup one way and was fooling around but it seemed like " hmm how can that stuff be there if I delete it"

I hope you didn't get too far in your listings. I think you can move categories around, I haven't messed with it for a while to say for sure.

well, I only had about a dozen or so, before I tried to get 'creative' and messed them all up... still it's disheartening to have to do it all over again.

Oh, well... live and learn. I certainly won't make THAT mistake again!

That would be good - it is kinda important!

One thing that made it worse was that I didn't realize it was happening until after I had deleted/rearranged four or five categories... I only saw what was taking place when I went back to the Products area, and by then it was too late - the damage had been done, and my feeble attempts to rectify it only made it worse...

WHERE is it in red?

On the online Products page, yes... but I didn't know how to reverse it, once it said 'Deletion Pending'.

In the manual, it is only in black on page 6 under 'Delete categories in your store' and I wasn't trying to delete anything - so I wasn't on that page!

By the time I saw the red "!" and red "Deletion pending" most of my products were already long gone... because I had switched my Categories around at least a half dozen times before then.

Anyway, that's life... I'll just have to do them over, that's all.
