|
|
So my question is for google attributes
Should I name Hot Wheels for the brand, or should it be named Mattel ?
I also see that a lot of these UPC numbers are the same number.
Not just hot wheels but other things I had.
Anything anyone knows about these UPC duplicate numbers but have different things in a package ? |

It varies - Due to Google's very unprofessional handling of Shopping, you just have to try some things and see what sticks. Sometimes Hot Wheels will work, sometimes Mattel. The question you have to ask yourself is: Do I want to follow a set of rigid rules to satisfy a faceless corporation or do I want to cater to my customers. The answer should be fairly apparent from there.
On the UPCs: They are close (as the upc's are grouped) but not exact. The first few numbers will likely be similar or the same. The last few will be different. Don't mix up P/N with UPC and you should be ok. |

I always use Hot Wheels as the brand when I list them for sale. Just like whenever I have a Barbie item, I use Barbie as the brand even though Mattel also manufactures Barbie. |

How come you can't use both as the brand? It seems like people may look for it either way. |

Well, you can, but there's no guarantee that both will be used by Google. Usually either they'll pick one over the other or worse they cancel out. Plus, sometimes you only see 'Mattel' as an option under brand when you go searching. It's all very slapped together and Wild West in its arrangement. Plus the Google official attributes tree keeps changing about every month. Hard to keep up. |
