Here is an interesting article about Etsy. It talks about the dilemma of the sellers that sell their wares at a place that disregards the loyalty of the small businesses that made them what they were. It reminds be of what happened at Ebay and what happened here after Google destroyed their search engine.

It all sounds so familiar...almost the same as what TopHatter is doing. |

I did try Tophatters and it was very good for the small person like me in the beginning. But then they would not let me get in the auctions I wanted to be in and I had to qualify for this and that. Then they started to charge listing fees which you had to pay even if your item did not sell. Every now and then I check in at their site to see if anything has improved, but I find it is not worth my time to sell there. |

I think Corporate Greed is a better name. Meg Whitman is the all-time Queen of Corporate Greed. |

I am still doing ok at TH but I would NEVER recommend as a place to sell. The fees are getting higher but I am still eeking out some profit |

Searching on Etsy is grueling now and it used to be so delightful. |

Two things to remember in all of this.
1. When you get a free service on the internet, you are not the customer, you are the product.
2. There is more small revenue streams flowing back and forth, than is talked about or is obvious.
Once you understand those two, then a lot of things become much more obvious. |
