How far did you go in the checkout ?
Certain paths thru the checkout do not show shipping until the final step. |

Certain paths thru the checkout do not show shipping until the final step. | You did not reach the final step in the PayPal Express checkout. Once a customer clicks on the button "Checkout with PayPal" they are taken to a screen on PayPal where they can either enter their credit card information or their PayPal information (email and password). Once they enter one of the two choices, they are shown the address on file with PayPal or they enter the address for their credit card. Next they are returned to your eCrater checkout page where the shipping, sales tax (if any) is added. At this point they can review the order total and either decide to continue with payment or abandon the order. The shipping and tax can not be shown until after they return from PayPal, because eCrater doesn't have their address until that point. Once the checkout cart has the address, the shipping can be calculated and the Sales tax applied if due. The customer is shown a "Submit Order" button. They must click on the submit order button for the charge to their credit card or charge to their PayPal account takes effect.
This is normal for PayPal Express where you are not required register for an account or where you choose to checkout "as a guest". You can see for yourself what I'm describing as long as you DO NOT click the submit order button. If you try to make a purchase from yourself, you could lose your PayPal account. (If you want to test for yourself, be sure to use your browser back button to go back to the point you can delete the items from your cart and delete them. They will be deleted after you close your browser window, but when you delete yourself you prevent an accidental charge.)
OR you could test by buying something from a fellow eCrater seller. |
