First-Class Mail Parcel rates changing
Effective August 28, 2016, the U.S. Postal Service® (USPS®) will change the Retail Rate for First-Class Mail® Parcel service 1-3 ounce weights from $2.45 to $2.62. The rate for Endicia customers will now be $2.60. Why? Endicia continues to automatically ensure customers pay the lowest price, and in the case of this price change, the First-Class Package Service Commercial Base price for these packages is now lower than the new Retail Rate for First-Class Mail Parcel. The delivery times for First-Class Package Service and First-Class Mail Parcel are exactly the same, so there will be no change to the level of service you receive. No software update is necessary to get the lowest rate.

I knew it had been talked about, but I had sort of forgotten that it would happen. That is a 15 or 17 cent raise for my lighter weight patterns. Now it won't matter if a pattern weighs 2 or 3 ounces or 6. That much less in our pockets since about half of my orders went out with the $2.45 price. That is around $6 more each month in postage alone. |

Yes and No. True the rate is increasing, but the rate it is going to is where it should have been for the past several months. So the better way of looking at it is that you saved $6 that would should spent on postage. |
