|
Hi, i see that we can put our entire stores on hold, but how do you put an individual item on hold?
I searched the forum and read posts on hiding individual items, but they didn't explain how. I don't see "hide" in my admin options. Where is it?
Got my 1st eCrater sale tonight....yea!! But don't want to delete the listing until payment is received and clears...if you know what i mean...yet only have 1 of this item and don't want someone else to come along and buy it either. |

log in
click on products on the left menu
find the item you want on hold
click the pencil to edit the item
Under the Global category area you should see -
Show as featured on your store home page.
Show on the top in product listing for the category.
Hide this product.
Use this option to hide out-of-stock products. Prevent buyers from ordering products that you no longer have in inventory. Once the products become available, unselect the option
Used products.
CLICK the box infront of Hide this product.
Then when you get the item in stock again, you only have to uncheck that box and it will appear to the buyers again.
When you hide an item - it is no longer seen by the buyer - YOU can see it if you are logged in- But the title is gray not blue like the rest of them
I SUGGEST you do not hide the item in the case of a sale - because the buyer can not see it. I upload a SOLD image and make that the default. Then in 2 weeks after I sent it, giving them plenty of time to look and compare what they received to the ad - then I hide it or delete it depending if I will have the item again or not.
Feel free to look at my store and "borrow" (LOL) my sold image if you wish. |

Wow, thanks for your quick reply bigtallmen's!
I didn't think about the fact that the buyer wouldn't be able to see the item either if it was hidden or deleted. Thanks for sharing your tip (and offer) about the "sold" photo. I see that you still leave a couple of photos in the listing so the buyer can see the item, but the "main" photo is the sold photo.
Do you find that works? Have you ever had someone else come along and purchase the item even though you have the "sold" photo on it?
Too bad we can't change the "quantity" option to zero...that doesn't work...i tried
Should i put this on the "suggestion" board? |

I made a "SOLD" gif and put it over the photos, so buyer can still sort of see the item. Thanks for the tip |
