| Uh, lets see, you put 2.95 in the box for US, 4.95 in the Alaska and Hawaii box and 3.95 in the Canada box. What are you doing that it is coming up zero? If you are using the matrix, it is the same deal and you put the shipping amounts in the boxes that correspond with what each column stands for on the matrix and make sure the weight dependable box is checked and your weight is in the weight box. |

That tells me that ...
1) you have USPS Calculated turned off
2) You have that item checked with Free Shipping
Please check the product listing page (on the admin side) and tell if that is what you see ? |

| The above link is showing $4.95 for Alaska. Why would shipping to Alaska be $2 more than shipping to Canada? I didn't have a handy zip code for Hawaii so didn't check it. |

If items are ship by 1rst Class. The rates are the same for any of the 50 States and the Territories. |

Also why would something ship free to the 'mainland' but not to HI and AK. I realize that depending on weight and how you ship, the cost may change but what a way to get people to not order from you! If you are willing to give free shipping to someone in Nebraska although you are actually paying for it, why not to HI too? Most of your stuff is lightweight and should be falling under the same mail class. I guess all I'm trying to say is buyers notice these things (even though they may read nothing else in a description) and many do get upset when they are excluded for free deals when most of the time there isn't a good reason for it, such as something going free to the mainland in a Priority flat rate envelope, HI and AK would also have the same cost.

For a specific item (like the link I posted above) why would the class of shipping vary by state ? |

| Hi I only ship up to 2 lbs. what do I do with the unused part of the matrix. does that mean that if some body does order alot I have to ship for free. d I need to use the matrix I use usps calculated shipping |

Kind of curious why you would limit purchases to 2#.
But if you don't have the rest of the matrix filled out past 2# and especially the 16+ column, then yes I think you will be shipping for free. In the 16+ column you need to put the amount to add in the amount to keep adding up for however you are using the weight spot on your listing. Say if you have a weight of one in your listing for a pattern, then you need the equivilant of what it would cost to add one more pattern to a package so that if someone bought 19 items, the first 16 go by the matrix and then the next three calculated by 3 X $XX and added to the 16 amount. In this the $xx is whatever the number you have in 16+. Hard to explain, easier to show. |

| thanks I get the idea I will fill it all out. I didn't want to deal with over 2pounds because of the expense, especially international and my items don't coast much, they are not worth the shipping |

While one individual item may ship for 2-pounds or less, the customer could put several in the shopping cart (i.e. they may be trying to save on shipping by purchasing multiple in one order). If you fail to put numbers in the heavier columns, that will cause an order to be generated with zero for a shipping cost. I don't think you want that to happen. |

Actually you may want to leave that to the buyer to decide or not. Or you can let them come to my store and I would ship 50# worth if they wanted to pay the shipping  |
