I'm taking a survey here, if you would be in China what would you like to buy for you or your family/friends? (except fakes)
Tea, silk, jewels, vases, sculptures, antiques, electronics...?

With all the recent recalls from China stuff - I wouldn't want to buy anything. Food, toys, earrings, tea cups, you name it the list seems to grow longer and longer daily.

There are a lot of collectibles that I would love to have from China...silks, carvings, I collect buddhas, although not the new Resin jobs.
But what B&T said is true. We went shopping for our 'coming soon' grandbaby this past weekend at BabiesRUs, and spent the entire time checking every single item we picked up, to make sure it was not from China..

I buy North American. If I'm feeling rich I buy European. Haven't done that in quite a while.

I'm with Kim, the only thing I would really buy are beads! I try to buy gifts that are handcrafted in the US for my friends and family!

Yeah. Even items assembled in the US use parts made elsewhere so item still says made in USA but could still fall apart due to weak plastics or be full of lead or whatever.

There's not much you can buy that the guts are made somewhere else.

I saw an article somewhere today-they are outsourcing Hershey's chocolate to Mexico. My life is over.

Thanks for your answers and comments everyone!
This survey is still running so add your comments if you feel like it.

In fact I'm asking what people would like to buy from China as I'm really thinking about opening a 2nd store but I'm undecided in what category specializing it in.
I've got many ideas but need to focus on a main product and I want my store to be SEO friendly too.
This afternoon I went to 2 antique "shops" to give myself some more ideas.
Such nice sculptures, vases [(dating from the 2 last dynasties Ming(XIV-XVII centuries) and Qing(XVII-XX centuries)]. Well to get 'em you gotta give loads of $$$$$$$$$!!!
I personally reckon that their place is in a museum, too beautiful and valuable to be sold.
I also saw a phone from the 30'- 40's( it's all described in chinese, gotta ask my gf to translate for me) but gotta give quite a lot there too, about $800. Also some various pots, plates, vases (again)...

Anyway I'm gonna stay reasonable and focus on less expensive pieces.
Some of you would be interested in beads, silk, buddhas... I think that's something I can easily do but I need to make sure they sell.
I know many places where they sell high quality silk (for example), you choose how many meters you want.
I also know many places where they sell cheap sculptures, necklaces, buddhas, trinkets... there's still a way to bargain.
Tea gift sets too.

Like I said, leave your comments if you're interested in anything you'd like to be offered for sale.
Thanks.

I can vouch for you "atdanisesden" that yes indeed there is an incense called that....I know cause I have Amy Brown Dragon's Blood Incense Sticks in my store.

And I like to buy fantasy/mythical items too especially dragons and fairies.

One of my friends owns a small store in a mall and I know they sell buddhas and swords like hotcakes.
