What exactly is a doorway page? It's a website that you create that points to your eCrater store.
I see doorway pages as a workaround for some things that your not able to do with your store. Main things being trading links and being able to use google analytics. They don't necessarily have to be your own domain name. You can post your google pages or any other free site you use as long as it's being used as an eCrater doorway and it's not a blog, group or squidoo page. And the page/site must point to your eCrater store.
I find it's helpful to see what others do with their pages so you can get ideas for your own. If you don't mind sharing please post yours here.
I just grabbed a few from a couple other places and will put them here:
www.BigNTallMensClothing.com
www.GagGiftsRUs.com
http://fiber-fancies.com/
http://www.metalofthemoon.com/
http://www.framesngifts.com
There's one or two others that I know about, but can't seem to find the links right now. Hopefully the owners of the sites will be along and post them.
Thanks again to Allen and Metalofthemoon for kind suggestions for my page. |

Whatchya talkin bout! Looks great! Layout makes for fitting more on one page without scrolling.
I'll suggest the same as MoonMetal suggested to me. (Hope she doesn't mind me calling her that.)
If theres a way you can make your links open up in a separate window would be good. Not sure how the Google pages work and if you can use the Target=_blank attribute there, but if you can.... |

It was posted yesterday that ecrater now is accepting Google analytics. Ecrater posted it. |

I think it's the best way. Templates save alot of time and you can concentrate on filling it up with content and not worry about design as much. I didn't know about HTML much either, templates helped me to learn.
Looks great! Thanks for sharing. |

I'm wondering and it gets off topic of this post a bit but I am looking at fullerbrush items for sale and they are collecting sales tax for all states. wouldn't he only be collecting for their state as i can't imagine a small seller being a business in all states and filling in yearly sales tax forms for all states... isn't it illegal to accept sales tax in that manner?
I don't mean to pick on fullerbrush (sorry) but now i am just curious about the whole sales tax thing. |

Good question and I hope Fullerbrush doesn't mind my answering.
I used to sell Avon awhile back, and basically they collect sales tax in any state your in because they have physical locations pretty much in all states. Since Fullerbrush(eCrater member) is a sales representative for Fullerbrush the company, he/she collects sales tax for his/her state. And since he/she is also selling online, sales tax will have to be collected for all customers in all states that make a purchase with him/her and then it gets sent to Fullerbrush the company and they take care of paying all states taxes.
Well hope I explained that right.

Thank you for posting this! I have been trying to figure out for a couple of weeks how I can come up with a way to do link exchanges. I absolutely love the fullerbrush website, that's exactly what I want! |

YES, it is against the law for anyone to collect sales tax for states they do not hold a tax license in to do so.
My guess is their fuller brush distribution center is doing the shipping for them and the Fuller Brush company probably does hold a tax license in every state. That's the big difference with be a seller of your own product and being an affilitate or agent for a company. |

My doorway page is at: (removed link because I have moved it) and I use it for my Bear Ridge Gifts & Photography store here at eCRATER. It's my first time having a doorway page to direct to a store somewhere else and not sure if it is best or not, but thought I'd give it a try and see what happens. I wanted to be able to put more on my landing page than eCRATER currently allows. Mine is a work in progress...suggestions welcome and appreciated.
