The title subject says it all. None of my descriptions are showing.
And while we're at it, when I add a new item that I would like in one of those boxes, how do I do it?

log in
click on categories from the left menu
To add a pic for a category
click the pencil (edit) icon to the right of the category (first icon)
see where it says Picture:
put your image in there
then click the circle in the position you want that category to appear on your ecrater.com home page
click on update
NOW - YOU might have to click on refresh on your pc to see the new image in that spot in your store.
then click update |

Is it possible to have more than 1 picture in each item? |

Yep, in Admin navigate to the item and click on the icon with the camera on it. That'll take you to the screen where you can upload more pics for that item. |

I was so excited about your answer! But it didn't work. A second picture comes up, but both pictures have "default" and "delete" under them. I tried clicking on the the second pictures's default, but nothing happens.
Is there another step? BTW, after browsing for the image, I do click "add", and that's when the 2nd picture comes up next to the original one. |

Yeah, that means you added a second pic. The "default" image is the first one (the one on the left) and if you want to change the default image (the one that shows in your product's thumbnail image) just click "default" below another picture and it'll move to that first space.
And "delete" is there, of course, if you should decide you don't want one or more of the pictures there anymore.

You are mixing up too many things, lol.
FEATURED CATEGORY on the home page
One picture per category
Product page
This is there the description and everything else is
Only one image shows but you can have up to 12 items --- maybe it's 10
Under the image that shows it says how many images there are and to click. |

I guess what the dummie doesn't understand (among many, many things) is why would one have multiple pictures available if only one can be displayed in item's description.
Also, if you can have one featured picture per category, what decides which one is displayed on the home page?

ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR HOME PAGE - the only one displayed is the one you put in under the FEATURED CATEGORY sectin - when you enter the category.
NOW I think maybe you are confusing featured category with the featured items on the upper right of the screen. You can have a bunch of them there and they will rotate. Only shows one at a time but rotates through them.

CLICK where it says << 5 images >>
Presto - now you got to see everything about the dress. |

Could you please explain how to do that? I just uploaded one additional picture for one of my items. But again, both have Default and Delete under them. So how do you indicate that there are additional pictures/ |

First you go to PRODUCTS and add one picture to it when you create the listing.
Then after you added that item and you look at your PRODUCT list click on the camera icon to the right of the title - first icon - there you can add additional pics.
Once you have more then one pic it will say how many pics you have under the pic - so the buyer knows and can click to see them |

Do the search engines crawl the store description as they do at eBay? In other words, is it important to put in key words for better exposure? |
