Can we sell gift certificates in any dollar amount that a person can buy and use at our site. Say if they have a friend they want to give a gift to from our stores but not sure what they would like this way the person can pick out what they want. Is this acceptable with Ecrater and does any one else offer them. How do you work it so you keep track of the purchase and then the redemption of it. I was thinking I would send an actual certificate and they would have to mail it in as proof. Also If there is money left than what they used then I could deduct what they used and mail the balance back with the order.
THanks for your help |

Thank you bigntall! I did do a search and I couldn't find alot on the subject. I was just wondering how people did it. Actual paper certificates or ecertificates. How to apply them. Keep track of them, etc...I will search some more. Thanks for the help. |

most people don't do them because they can be a legal nightmare. |

I wonder if it makes a difference if you instead call them "coupon codes" or something like that. So instead of a gift certificate, it's just a coupon for $x.xx off the next purchase... |
