You've Sold something
great job Smile

Now what? Confused

PAYMENTS

If the Buyer chooses Paypal
You will receive an email from ecrater with the buyers information
and all the order information.

Check your paypal account to verify the buyer has paid.

If no payment was received I usually give the buyer 30 minutes to complete the transaction, you may choose to wait longer or act sooner. If no payment is received in your time frame then send the buyer an Invoice through Paypal for the amount due.
Include the Item info as well as your Store link and order Number.

Once payment is received the rest is on your personal terms.

I Notify the buyer that the order has been paid and when they can expect it to be shipped.

If no payment has been received for a purchase after a few days I send a reminder. If I receive no reply to
the reminder after another day. The order is canceled and deleted.

I always keep a record of unpaid order, just for my own personal reference.

Once paid for, you may package and ship the item.

make sure as with ALL sales, you get some kind of tracking or delivery confirmation for the package

if you have sold something expensive make sure you use insurance and Signature Confirmation.

For more details on Paypal See PAYPAL SOLUTIONS

If the Buyer Chooses Google Checkout

You will receive an email from Google Checkout if you have your Google Checkout options set to send you an email notification of orders received.

Check your GC Order Page for the order Information.

If the buyers credit card passed all the verifications by google
and the total amount is correct then you can package up the item.

Once you've determined you can fulfill and ship the order,go back to your Goolg Checkout orders page
and Click CHARGE for that order to Charge the buyers Credit Card

Ship the Item

From Google
To ensure your buyer's satisfaction (and to qualify for the Google Checkout Payment Guarantee Policy), ship the
order according to the shipping method and time frame agreed upon when the order was confirmed.
Once you've shipped the order, you must inform the buyer that the order is on its way.
Simply click Ship beside the appropriate order in your GC inbox to send a system-generated email to the buyer.
You can also send this email by clicking Send shipping confirmation on the order details page

Then about 5 Business days later the money should be transfered to your bank account.

make sure as with ALL sales, you get some kind of tracking or delivery confirmation for the package

if you have sold something expensive make sure you use insurance and Signature Confirmation.

For more details on GOOLGE CHECKOUT see GOOGLE CHECKOUT SOLUTIONS

If the Buyer Chooses to pay by Mail

You have chosen to accept Personal Checks, Cashier's Check, and/or Money Orders.

You will receive an email from ecrater with the buyers information
and all the order information.

During checkout The buyer received your information to mail in the payment, but it is always best to
follow up with an email to let the buyer know you received their order and give them the mailing info again.
Here you can also let them know how long you will hold the item for them while you wait for the payment to arrive. this is also a great time to mention any other related items they may like but have missed, or tell them about any specials you are offering.

Sit back and wait for the Payment to arrive.

Please see Solutions to INTERNET FRAUD if you receive a counterfeit Money Order.

Once payment arrives email the buyer and inform them that payment was received and when to expect shipment.

make sure as with ALL sales, you get some kind of tracking or delivery confirmation for the package

if you have sold something expensive make sure you use insurance and Signature Confirmation.

The Buyer Didn't Pay

If you followed the above steps and the buyer hasn't paid there is not much more you can do.
people change their minds, or things come up.

if you would like to delete the order from your ORDERS section just Login to your Administration page, Click ORDERS, and then click on the order number, price, or date. On the Item page at the bottom and you will have the option to delete.
You can ONLY delete unpaid Orders.
Anything marked as Payed is permanent

Products

Ok, you've sold an Item and have no more in stock.
What Now?

Well you have 3 Options.

#1 put a sold image in as the default image.
So the item is still visible by the buyer when they receive it.
As per eCrater Terms, you can only keep the SOLD image up for 2 Weeks then you must move on
to one of the next two options

Here are some great SOLD images Courtesy of cuppatea

#2 Hide the item in case you get more in stock and you will not have to re-type the item description info.
this can be done on the same page where you edit the items details.

#3 Delete the Item. If you do not plan to get any more this is the only way to go.

Both the buyer and the seller receive an email from
noreply@ecrater.com that looks exactly like this

The only exception is when purchase is made with Google Checkout

Now you can hide the item listing and still have it viewable if you have the url of the page. The "buy now" button will be disabled in hidden product listings.

For further information please see: http://www.ecrater.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=12191

So you do no longer need to leave listings unhidden with Sold images and risk someone else making a purchase of that item (when you don't have any more to sell).

You can still upload a Sold image for your hidden listing and make it default image, so it will be easier to keep track of which listing should be hidden in your admin page.

Do NOT leave sold out items unhidden, even for the 2 week period mentioned above. Since there is a way to view hidden items, eCrater now is enforcing the rule about not having "Items that are not for sale" posted more vigorously.

So if you sold an item and you do not have any more of that item, the listing needs to be immediately hidden. You can wait out the automatic hide with the Inventory Control (as long as it is the kind of payment where the Inventory Control is actually would work. See: http://community.ecrater.com/viewtopic.php?t=4895 for further details on Inventory Control).
