I have a chocolate lab that is almost 5 years old. She is the smartest dog I have ever had. For some reason, all the dogs I had in my childhood were dumber than a box of rocks! I had a jack russell terrier that would lick the screen on our screen door for hours!1 he would also lick the fan and the fan blades would hit his tongue! That didn't stop him though. I was just happy to have my dog fetch since she is the first one to do it! I had a hedgehog when I was in high school and that was a really cool pet! I got my senior picture taked with him.

that dog sure knows how to clean! at least you don't have to dust!
i like labs. they're so smart!

Pretty much immersed in things here with fur or feathers!

2 dogs, 2 cats, 11 chickens, 19 sheep, 19 lambs (soon to be 17), 2 guinea fowl. I think I got that count right...it changes a lot!

And I work part-time at a kennel.

Hi all,
I have a wonderful black & white female cat who's going to be 15 years old in July. Last Monday she was deathly sick. I even dug her grave. Crying or Very sad Happily, she's much improved! Her beautiful little panda face highlights my "OTHER COOL STUFF" category on my store. (My daughter looked at my site and said, "You're selling the CAT!???")

The other love-of-my-life critter was my dear departed Arabian mare, "Holly". She's dead 8 years now of colic. I still think of her and miss her every day. She was a sweet-tempered gentle mare that I could throw a saddle on and go off thru the woods for an entire day. My little girl could walk in the paddock with her and never fear harm. She was so gentle and forgiving of my foo-pahs in riding.

I've been so blessed to know both of these animals. If Heaven doesn't include animals I don't want to go there. (Probably not a worry....)

Plus all the normal childhood pets: a pet lamb that rode in the backseat of the car with my brother and I, other horses and dogs and cats, turtles, etc.

Plus I have oodles of boxes on my country land for Eastern Bluebirds to nest in, so every year I tend them as tho they were my own babies. Which, if you're gonna do it right, is a fight to the death against House Sparrows and wrens and other predators. But that's another story...

I have a puppy that I adopted from the pound, he was only eight weeks old when I adopted him, he is 6 months old now, I was told he is a german shepard mix. But I don't know, I don't see much shepard in him...would any one like to tak a guess at what mix he really is? He is sooooooo furry and his fur is silky soft. He is extremely smart. I named him Bear.
Here is his pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/desertgrace/Bear

this reminds me of one time...i was at the market. and behind me was this guy who was petting something small and dark in his hand. i thought it was a hairclip, and how nice it was for him to be buying hairclip for maybe a girl friend. i just waited in line to pay at the register, thinking nothing much of it. just random thoughts going through my head while waiting. i usually don't gaze at people behind me, or whatever they are holding or purchasing.

but because he was constanly caressing this "black" figure in his hand, it slowly sparked my curiosity and when my eyes finally focused on it...i jumped back really startled!

it was a scorpion!! it looked like a tiny black lobster with a single big claw.
and yes i was scared of it! why is he holding this in the supermarket?

my friend talked to the guy and found out that he actually rents out animals to put in movies. he has different exotic animals, like anacondas and tarantulas...things i am glad to say that i do not keep in my house Smile

he said he had many anacondas rented out for the movie ANACONDA which starred jennifer lopez years back.
