After importing your listings from Ebay, here are some tips to finish your store:

PLEASE PUT YOUR STORE ON HOLD
until it is finished. This button is under the MORE OPTIONS menu on your ADMIN INTERFACE.

Did you read the terms and conditions?
This button is located on Ecrater's main page next to the contact button on the lower right corner.

Read the Forum Store SET UP topic "What to do after you register," Some of the information may be outdated but if you have questions, please ask the members here on the forum.

Your descriptions will need to be cleaned up on your products. Remove the boilerplate information. An example of boilerplate is "Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID. I LOVE TO COMBINE SHIPPING TO SAVE YOU $$!!PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO looking. IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL PICTURES OR SIZING JUST ASK. SMOKE FREE HOME. View more great items." You can put this information in your FAQS or about information.

On the Menu, under TEXTS and COLORS,
use the different buttons to upload a logo, add an avatar, add your FAQS, Terms, Contact and your ABOUT information. SEE THE forum topic in the 3rd paragraph above about "What to do after you register" to learn how to add these things to your store to make it look professional.

You may also wish to divide your items into categories for the different types of items you sell. See the topic in the 3rd paragraph above to learn how to set up categories. Once you set up your categories, you will have to edit each product with the correct category. Under PRODUCTS you may edit them by clicking on the yellow pencil button. The categories in your store are the LOCAL CATEGORY.

If you have other questions please ask the member of this forum.

This can be incredibly important! This is the equivalent of putting signs in the grocery store or Walmart where certain items will be for sale such as soup or tires. When first starting out you may think you don't have enough items to do this, but as your store grows you will wish you had. As an example, I had my categories set up correctly, but one day I noticed that I had over 5000 items in one category! Yikes, how will anyone find anything that way? I immediately made sub-categories for all my items. I wanted to make it easier for others to find what they were looking for. I have seen some sellers with over 7000 items (their entire inventory) clumped under 'my eBay' or 'My stuff'. Having good categories is also helpful for search engine optimization.

Lastade is correct, we are happy to help with questions. Please make sure that your store is set up and looking professional when you turn it on.

If your eBay descriptions contain any html coding, it will be removed when your listings are imported. Be sure to review your product descriptions to see if they need editing. The descriptions on eCRATER are written in plain text.

Some basic formatting attributes are allowed in the product descriptions, but they must be added manually to the description. Supported attributes are [b] , [i], [sup], [em], [strong], [u], and [li].
