Hi.

I'm new here and just setting up my store. I did a search but didn't find this.

Is there any way to copy a product so that if you have similar products with the same description you can just copy it all and then edit the new one instead of having to do each product from scratch?

Thanks,
Caat

Thanks. Maybe that's one for the suggestion box.

We sell 100s of antique magazines. There are many settings that are repetitive with those, so I could use a 'copy' button.
Example: If I want to create products for each weekly date of a Life magazine, I now have to r etype and reselect 100%, while 90% is repetitive. Only the title and the image change (and sometimes the store category if I differentiate by year).

Hey I know what you mean. I had to list 1450 belts each one by one unfortunately that's how this system works.
I would be in heaven with a copy/create similar button - but I have given up on that ever happening.

I meant 1000s not 100s of antique magazines.

You might consider using the Bulk Upload option.

There is no bulk upload function, only a 'send shete in email' process.

We do not email our database around. It is too valuable for that.

Do you think e-mailing it directly to eCrater would somehow be less safe than uploading it directly to eCrater? Either way eCrater would have direct access to it. Then again, so do your customers once the products are loaded into the store so I guess I'm confused.

I read in the posts about bulk listing items. Is it true that it can take a few weeks until it would post to ecrater ?
I have loads of items to post and need to get them out faster. Any help or suggestions ?

It can.
Sorry, but I don't know how far or if they are behind at the moment but I would imagine ecrater.com is doing what can be done to keep on top of all the request.

I posted a bulk file on 25th and it was rejected on 26th so I guess the checking functionality is working pretty quickly! - I still can't see whats wrong with the darn file either.

Leef,

I looked at one of your items. I'm confused because I saw a lot of information that would be unique to each magazine.

I'm assuming that the information is stored in a database (Access?) somewhere. Is it possible to download to word? Then you would just have to change the title and cut/paste the rest. Even if you had to do some editing in word, I would think that would be faster than retyping.

Or am I missing something in your process?
