there is a brand called REPUBLIC OF TEA...makes really good pomagranate green tea. they have weird mixes like sage and blueberry.

i am also hooked on milk teas.....

i'd like to know what people recommend as good teas? i think most people like english breakfast tea?

Since I have to have several cups of java to keep going, I have never developed a tea habit. I used to drink it till I lived in England and then the stuff you got in working class cafes that was brewed in an urn and served half full of milk put me off for a long time.

I like Earl Grey when I take the time to make a cup in the afternoon or Constant Comment. For someone who doesn't drink it often I have one whole kitchen shelf of different varieties. It is cheap and lasts forever.

I have a finicky way of demanding my tea be drunk from bone china mugs and have several up there on the shelf with the tea. I'll drink coffee out of anything but tea has to be in bone china. Just broke my favorite Royal Albert.

There is nothing however more elegant that having high tea in an elegant hotel or tea shop. Since it slows down your pace considerably, you take the time to reflect on a gentler lifestyle.

Hmmm. Think I'll go make a cup of tea.

LOL at Maggie-not really! But my great grandmother was British and insisted on tea every afternoon when she visited. The grandsons had to take off their overalls, put on short trousers and shoes, and have tea. But they did all grow up with excellent manners for Texas country boys!

BargainsforU:
Ditto on the Earl Grey Tea!

My maternal grandmother was originally from Russia, but moved to London, England as a young child. She was a TEA ONLY drinker. She drank it as she called it, the "British way" with cream in it. (I don't know if that is really how the British drink their tea) That's the way I like it, too.

I am mainly a water drinker. I used to be a diet soda fanatic, but over the last 5 years or so that has tapered way down.

I like Jasmine or Earl Grey tea - aromatic teas for me.
There's a chain of stores called Teavana that I will splurge and treat myself to one of their special blends. Iced or hot, sweet or plain, it makes no difference to me as long as it's tasty.

Coffee is a bit trickier - I like a good cup of coffee black, but not so good and I have to load it up with cream and sugar to disguise it.

No soda for me. I drink lots of water.

My fav brand is Stash Tea. I like both green & black teas....don't care for white tea (not enough flavor). Consent Comment is a nice spicy tea....best hot. I brew alot of tea, but drink coffee every morning.
I occasionally like jasmine, but don't care for earl gray. Once in a while, I enjoy both Irish (I'm 1/4 Irish on my dad's side) & English Breakfast Tea.

nothing fancy for me, I use tetly or lipton tea bags in my ice tea maker and no sugar, nothing. I prefer 'nekid' ice tea, i drink several glasses a day. And for soda, nothing beats a Dr. Pepper Very Happy
