I had a pit bull way back when I was single & had no kids. She was a love but could tear apart any other dog or cat. I just can't trust them since a friend of mine just lost her arm while walking into her daughter's house one day that had "a sweet pitbull". It ripped her up BAD & her arm had to be amputated. (she's known the dog for a few years)
I'm glad that Denver has a law banning ALL pitbulls. They are just too powerful.
Sorry, Bond it, your dog does LOOK adorable... I'm just glad that basketball is not my daughter's head.

Where I live we have black bears that venture into populated areas. More people survive bear attacks than pitbull attacks and every single pitbull owner insists their dog was the sweetest thing and that the victim must have done something to provoke it.

OK, now those last 2 pictures scare me. I had a miniature pitbull about 20 years ago. The sweetest, gentlest dog but, for some reason he didn't like other races. We lived in a mixed area of town and had to keep a close eye on him. When we had friends come over he had to be put up. Talking with others I found that this isn't an uncommon thing but, I've never had another dog behave that way. My ex kept the dog and I'm not sure what happened to him. Now that I have children, I wouldn't own a pit or a rot. As wonderful as these dogs are the potential of them harming my children isn't worth it. We have a new 7 yr old black lab and he's just wonderful. A much better fit for me and my children.

The 1st one is kind of funny; the way it's lips and eyes are. But, those teeth! I'm sure they're wonderful dogs; very cute, with no teeth showing, LOL!

hehehehe they are not my dogs , no way! It was my lame atempt at being funny. I found the pics online. My husband is allergic to cats and dogs, but even if he wasn't we would not have pit bulls yikes!

We have birds which are much sweeter and no chance of being mauled and disfigured. I was just watching a video today of a french lady who had to have a face transplant due to her dog attacking her!

What kind of dog did she have? Any dog can attack there's just some breeds that are known to cause more damage/don't just bite once and stop. I remember as a kid about 9, I was walking to school and came around a corner and there was a white german shephard laying on the sidewalk. He looked at me funny and I decided to walk across the street so as not to get to close and he came running after me. Well, me being just 9 I ran and he bit me on my butt. It's funny now as I had just 2 little punchers but, had it been a pit or rot I would have not been so lucky. Sad

I agree any animal can attack....
Story: a couple years ago my daughter was at my sister's who owned a few cats. She was watching TV & ALL of a sudden 1 cat attacted her. From her head all the way down the side of her body. Puncture marks thru her jeans & she was bleeding heavily. Got her to the emergency room & they thought she was attacted by a Mountain Lion! My mom's co-workers thought the same thing when they saw the Pics I emailed her.
Her HomeOwners insurance was a bit confused but discovered her policy said "animal attacts" & not just "dog"... so they paid for everything.
BUT.... my mom & sister did not believe that my daughter was not bugging the cat (we had a "no talk" few days cuz of that) HOWEVER.. a couple days later the cat attacted my niece. THEN they believed my daughter & had the cat put down.

So... yes... Any animal can attact!!!

I found an article that actually states what kind of dog it was, most didn't say the breed. It was a Labrador http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10336339/

My bad for auto assuming it was a Pit Bull, they have such a bad rep for attacking though

This is my Karma Jean, one of the sweetest pooches I've ever had.
She'll be a year old in February but already weighs in excess of 85 lbs.
Karma Jean is going to be a very B-I-G girl!
