I'm one of those awful stodgy people who has troubles with change... so far I've been afraid to try google checkout - after reading through the boards though, I'm getting closer to having my nerves ready for it.

Congrats on your sales!

Enjoy!
Sarah

No Fees = Good

Just make sure you put in the right amount to verify your account or the process starts all over!!

I am up to four whole orders on GCO!

The only thing I don't like is the fact that after sending the invoice the customers info doesn't disappear. The first two I sent I got the invoice had been sent and I got it in my email box but till they paid I wondered if it had actually been sent.

The same goes when they pay the invoice. My customer said I think I paid, it said I paid but all the info is still in the form!

I added GCO and had an order/payment the same day!!! I was very 'stressed' out, but it really was simple. And - yes....no fees is super!!!

I even gave the customer a partial refund to thank them for using Google vs. Paypal!! Very Happy Very Happy

I have been thinking about google checkout and almost signed up but then backed out. Love to hear more from others (pros and cons). Pay Pal fees are killing me!

Bargains: Give it a try, see how it goes over with your customers. The more secure payment options you offer the better the odds are you will have a sale.

I only have 2 issues (so far) with Checkout: while they do deposit the money fairly quickly (2-3 days) into my bank account, they DO have access to said account. Hmmm. Call me a worrywart, but not a fan of that. Paypal has no access to your bank account period.

The 2nd issue I have is something that is a little less defined but also makes me uneasy. Something about the world's biggest and most used search engine, who has the most used PPC program out there (Adwords), having access to my bank account and allowing MY customers to mask their email addresses - that's giving Google a whole lotta trust.

Although I don't use Adwords, I'm keeping tabs on keywords right now. I want to see how the Adwords placements shake out as far as Checkout. Are Adwords advertisers getting higher placement if they are offering Checkout? And if so, what will that mean as far as sellers' Checkout fees after the free period is over and they've (they hope) become a major contender as far as payment processors?

At that point, they'd have us by the, uhhh, throat. Something to think about.

Lots of merchant accounts pay monthly and then some hold a certain amount for charge backs.

Another thing when sending an invoice the screen leaves all the info you put in the form making it look like it didnt send an invoice, although it says it sent one. The same happens when paying an invoice making the customer wonder if payment was really sent. The forms should blank out after sending or paying an invoice!

When you signed up for google did you put your SS# or tax Id? I don't have a tax id and am very leery about using my SS#.
