This is something completely new. I am not sure whether this happens because of my settings, or some other reason.

Item in question sold for X amount with Y amount of shipping entered into listing. Invoice through PayPal did not show shipping at all.

So, here is how my listing was set up:

Weight: 1 (e.g., jewelry, 1 blouse, and other light weight item):

Shipping: Flat rate

$5.95 USA
$7.00 Hawaii
$8.00 Canada

I assigned all of the above shipping costs to weight 1 under the matrix.
What could explain that the invoice omitted the shipping charge? Thanks to anyone who knows!

On a separate note, I am worried if other invoices will end up the same way (not showing the shipping) when sold. All are set up like the one lising above, except I may be using a different number under "weight" (either 1, or 2 or 4).

I also have other flat rate shipping charges. For weight category 2 I have 8.00 flat rate for the USA (for jackets, handbags, etc); and for weight category 4 (I do not seem to find category 3 on my matrix) I have 12.50 as flat rate (this one I want to use when selling heavy or large items.

Any comments appreciated!

You are the second one to post of PayPal not getting the shipping charges on an ecrater.com order.

I am guessing that it has something to do with the new security changes PayPal just done.

Have you reported this issue to the ecrater.com team??

Hello BTMC

I have not yet reported this to e-crater staff, because I was hoping somebody would tell me whether this is a problem of my shipping settings ? I do not think it is, because earlier invoices had the shipping inserted properly; but I wasn't sure if something changed in the way the listing needs to be created, and I just missed the information?

I think it is a good idea to e-mail them, and I may just do that!

About the shipping having to do with the new PayPal settings, hmm. I am not sure how the two would interact...once PayPal found the entire transaction incl. buyer ID and buyer payment method approved, why would their system recognize the sales price, but not the shipping charge? Hmm, hmm, hmm. I mean, there is a faint possibility but it would surprise me.

When I receive the response from e-crater I will post it here so others can use the info who may have the same problem.

Thanks and have a great Sat evening! Razz

That's sort of what I was thinking. The set-up is simplistic enough that, as far as I can tell, PayPal only sees the whole total as the whole total.

Is your customer from UK? Did you check UK in the shipping zones, but not filled the shipping costs at the Shipping Matrix for UK?

No, customer is not from the UK - from the US actually. I do have flat rate for the UK set up, but I have it filled in already as a flat rate of $10.

sigh. Confused

do you have 0 typed in the listing as weight?

do you have "weight dependable shipping" selected in the listing? (and no shipping cost typed at the shipping matrix)
