Here's what I go a minute ago related to a past transaction on another site (I and my buyer agreed to do things as following: shipment of the item back to me, then full refund to my buyer + shipping costs) My buyer's fault in fact because she didn't read the item description before buying.

PayPal has escalated this dispute to a claim. As part of our investigation,
we reviewed any communication you may have had with the buyer in the
Resolution Center.

We have received a complaint from a buyer who stated that merchandise you
sent them did not match your original description. The buyer is disputing
the quality of goods associated with the transaction detailed below.

As you may already be aware, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies only
to the shipment of goods and not to complaints about the attributes or
quality of goods received through an eBay transaction. Therefore, we will
not conduct an investigation into this matter at this time.

We do, however, reserve the right to begin an investigation within 180 days if we determine it is necessary.

PAYPAL HAS ESCALATED THIS DISPUTE TO A CLAIM. PAYPAL!!!! Not my buyer!!!

How am I supposed to understand that knowing it's not an eBay transaction?:

As you may already be aware, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies only to the shipment of goods and not to complaints about the attributes or
quality of goods received through an eBay transaction. Therefore, we will

It is because the buyer filed a complaint and if they had not done that then PayPal will not step in. The person filing the complaint always has the option to close the dispute but as a buyer and seller you do not close a complaint till you are pleased with the transaction. I would guess that after the whole issue is taken care of the buyer will close the complaint. Make sure you send PayPal copies of all your emails with the buyer so they can see what the buyer is telling you. And PayPal has a toll free phone number call them and talk to a person! I have had nothing but positive experiences calling them direct and they will take down your side of the story. PayPal will never go after the seller unless the buyer request it.

Just been my experience!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Actually I can't call paypal due to my location.
The case is closed, I checked it. Closed but paypal escalated it to a complain. Question Question I just don't get it.
Me and my buyer agreed of the following events, why paypal came to put its grain of salt in our business if we are ok now? NONE of their business!

How did paypal know there was an issue at all? And can't they tell when a transaction is eBay or other?

Because my buyer complained through paypal. She didn't escalate it to a claim, just exchanging messages to resolve the problem and those paypal idiots went ahead to escalate it to a claim. I still don't get it because the case is closed but they did escalate it to a claim. What's that all about? Rolling Eyes

Mystery for that one... perhaps just for information but I couldn't care less about feebay.

Well today I received an e-mail from paypal asking for my feedback regarding the past dispute. HAHAHAHA, idiots, in your dreams paypal, in your dreams.
I won't bother answering it knowing that it's a ready made questionnaire with dumb questions that won't change anything to that crooked company and knowing that they escalated it themselves to a claim.

They asked for feedback, so it means the case is closed, doesn't it? So why did they escalate it to a claim? Dummies.

Btw, I asked 2 important questions here: http://www.ecrater.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=3093
Can you help?

OK, here's a thought-just semi-serious: if the buyer didn't escalate the claim, and apparently is satisfied with things, but Paypal decides against you, does Paypal get the charge back, or does the customer? Might be a way for ebay to recoup some of their recent business losses!

Just joking of course...

Are you sure the e-mail is legit and not a phishing e-mail or something?

Dead sure poopsheet: I didn't click on links given in the e-mails but went to the paypal.com site myself. Legit!

Hehe, that wouldn't be surprising, anything can happen with 'em.

Anyway, the claim is now closed (until paypal might decide to bring it back to the surface for x reasons) so I have my peace of mind now.

Thanks everyone!!

Here's a new issue with paypal I've just been informed of:

Resolution Center Case Reversal Details

This payment has been selected for review and we have opened an investigation.

This is a security measure meant to protect you from problem transactions.

We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until the investigation is complete.

Please provide some additional information about this transaction.

Response deadline: 3 Dec. 2007

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

What's wrong with 'em Question Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

It seems they're not satisfied that the previous case went smoothly so they have to step in it further by escalating claims and decide to open claims themselves now. What the hell Question Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation What's wrong with those people?!!

I have proof of shipment but that's none of their business as long as no one claims anything.

Seems like paypal doesn't like people making money without any chargebacks. Their loss, I give 'em so much in fees.

Has anyone had a similar problem before?

Hmmm Confused , that's a new one on me because I never had that kind problem with payapl regarding customers as of yet and I also sold items on ebay in the past.

I've had one customer dispute when selling things on ebay and I won because the customer was a fraud and then I had one customer dispute on ecrater but the customer was in the right because I assumed I temp closed my account during last year holiday, so the customer money was just sitting there collecting dust. Razz

I've been using paypal wow for 5 years now and it's been great so far Very Happy for me, I just try my best to protect my self from fraud buyers.

I haven't had a problem with PayPal either. I did have someone once say that the item wasn't what they thought it was and PayPal said I had to pay the person back but they didn't get it returned in time so they cancelled it. I paid the person anyway though.

Check this out:

From jerkpal:

Quote:
As you know, we have been reviewing the transaction detailed below. Our
investigation is now complete and we have returned the funds to the PayPal
account holder.

Meaning I'm SCREWED! I gave proof of shipping, I'm verified, my buyer too, my buyer received her items but still they gave her her money back. ($93.97 minimum paypal fees of course)
I kindly asked my buyer to re-send me the money back because of paypal's mistake but it's 99% hopeless.

Paypal quote:
Quote:

Most of the payments you receive will be from good, honest buyers. PayPal
wants to help you ensure safe transactions as much as possible.

What about us sellers? All scammers even when we give proof of shipment?!

Remember what I said (or paypal says) in a previous post:
Quote:
This is a security measure meant to protect you from problem transactions.

Yeah right....... just meant to screw YOU, sellers.

That's it, I switch to Google Checkout in addition to that paypal idiot

Okay am I understanding this correctly?
Buyer gets item doesn't like it.
You agree to refund money.
Buyer returns items, you refund money.
After reviewing the situation much later, Paypal also refunds the buyer's money.
Buyer now has been refunded twice and you are out of pocket $93+.

Assuming I have followed this correctly, didn't you refund the buyer via Paypal? If so can't Paypal look at their own records and see that you have refunded the buyer?

Did I miss part of this saga?
